Fortnum & Mason - Marmalade Glazed Sausages

Marmalade Glazed Sausages Recipe Book: Fortnum & Mason Cook Book Review: 🌟🌟🌟. Not a good start I'm afraid on this one. Husband didn't like it, he said it tasted bitter. I personally, didn't get this. I thought it was alright, but to me it was just Cumberland Sausages in a sticky sauce which didn't overly taste of Marmalade. It was easy enough to make though and only took around 30 minutes to make. Aga conversion: I fried the sausage in the saute pan on the floor of the Roasting Oven for about 12 minutes each side. I did the marmalade and butter bit on the Boiling plate. Served with a bit of Rocket Salad. Will I make this again? Probably not.

Jamie Oliver - Cauliflower Cheese Pizza Pie

Cauliflower Cheese Pizza Pie (872 calories) Recipe Book: Jamie Oliver Veg (the latest book)  Review: 3-4 Stars! We had such high hopes for this one. This one wasn't quite as straight forward as I though it was going to be... I think last week I just had too much stuff on the go all at once.  The husband wasn't over keen on this one, for him he said the pizza base reminded him of Yorkshire Puddings. For some reason my sauce seemed to go runnier not thicker (it was thick when it went into the base) after I put it in the oven so mine did not come out in nice neat slices, it sort of cut with a nice crispy cut and then ran out everywhere whilst I'm rapidly trying to get it onto a plate. Has this happened to anyone else or is it just me? My opinion: as an entire dish that kind of fell apart - 3 stars - as separate parts - Cauliflower cheese...good....pizza base...good - 4 stars. Aga conversion: I used my 28cm saute pan to make this. I mainly used the simm

Jamie Oliver - Masala Stuffed Peppers (389 Calories)

Masala Stuffed Peppers (389 calories) Recipe Book: Jamie Oliver Veg (the latest book)  Review: 3.5 Stars! OK, so this one didn't score too highly. I'd had one of 'those' days and was rushing so by the time I sat down to eat, I didn't really feel like it. It wasn't difficult to make, but it wasn't a quick one either. It tasted good but definitely didn't blow me away, but as a meat eater who is sat eating stuffed peppers (a first!) it wasn't half bad. I had to skip on the fresh coriander as I'm one of those people who taste it differently to everyone else - it tastes like soap to me. I also only had little peppers so I used 3 (red, yellow and green) as they were so dinky and they stuffed nicely with all the filling. I mistakenly picked up salted pistachios but they were fine. Aga conversion: I used the roasting tray on the floor of the roasting oven to boil the potatoes then did the rest using the hot plates. Peppers were baked on t

Hairy Bikers - Meat & Potato Pie Saga

Meat & Potato Pie Recipe Book: Hairy Bikers Complete Mums Know Best  Buy the book Review: DISASTER EPIC READ! I'll give this a 3 Star but it's not a true review to be brutally honest.... The saga: I'd decided to do a bit of a bake fest and started with this pie as the silver surfers were going to be coming over for tea and they do like quite traditional recipes, so I thought this would be a great recipe seeing as it's from a lady not too far away in Ilkley in Yorkshire, just over the border from me. I mean, Yorkshire people make great Pork Pies...what could possibly go wrong? What went wrong was me plus a slight bit of ambiguity in this recipe. NOTE - Dishing up time for this pie is 5PM. Here it goes.... I get up early on Wednesday morning to get down to the butchers to get my meat and bone ingredients. I get home and read the recipe...Oh no! I was supposed to make the stock for this the day before!! Bloody hell! So what do I do? Yep you guessed it
